Which photo works best for a grandparent gift
The photos grandparents love most are the ones with everyone in them, even if nobody is looking at the camera. A candid shot from a birthday, a holiday dinner, or a day at the park usually beats a posed portrait. If you only have a phone photo, that is fine: a clear, well-lit image from a modern phone prints sharply at 16 × 20 in and smaller. For larger sizes, pick the highest-resolution version you have, or send us an older photo and we will enhance it before printing at no charge.
One tip: if the grandkids live far away, a collage-style photo with each child's face clearly visible means Grandma can point to every one of them. Avoid heavy filters; acrylic shows true color and the natural version almost always looks better.
Picking the right size
- 12 × 8 in or 12 × 12 in ($62): a desk, a bedside table, or a kitchen shelf. The most popular choice for a first gift.
- 16 × 20 in or 20 × 16 in: a hallway or above a side table. Big enough to see faces from across the room.
- 24 × 36 in and up: a living room focal point above a sofa or fireplace. Choose this when the photo is high resolution and the wall is a true centerpiece.
Not sure? Landscape (wider than tall) suits group photos; portrait (taller than wide) suits one or two people; square works for close-ups.

You can choose separate fonts and sizes for the title and the names, pick the lettering color, and place it at the top or bottom. If you would rather keep the photo clean, leave every field blank for a photo-only print.
Timing for birthdays and holidays
Most orders arrive in 3 to 7 business days including production, with free US shipping. For Christmas, order by December 15. For a birthday or Mother's Day or Father's Day, ordering about ten days ahead leaves room for the free photo enhancement if you want it.
